As the holiday season comes to a close, the decked chairs make their way back to the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Station. Since Deck The Chairs’ inaugural year (2013) it has doubled in size and is expected to expand yearly! The iconic red chairs and unique lighted sculptures provided a wholesome, festive downtown during the holidays. This special experience allowed you to wander about with family and friends taking pleasure in the decorations and overall merry atmosphere. With the event being free and open to the public there was no reason not to make an appearance. Deck The Chairs – Holiday Celebration on December 14

Deck The Chairs (DTC) – Holiday Celebration: Night of Music & Dance on Sunday, December 14 from 5:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. starts the official 10 days until Christmas countdown! Come marvel at over 30 decorated lifeguard chairs including the 24-foot tall DTC Tree in downtown Jacksonville Beach. Performances by Nancy Dance Studio, string quintets from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra, presented by BRASS; hand bell choirs and choirs from several area churches, choruses from Fletcher High and Middle Schools; and of course a visit from Santa Claus allow visitors to delight in the holiday spirit. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to fill the Gifting Bucks for BEAM at the base of the DTC... read more

Bright Lights, Little City

The 2nd Annual Deck the Chairs (DTC), Beaches Winter Light Festival held its DTC-Light the Beach: Official Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, November 30. This month long festival features 36 decorated lifeguard chairs along with six large metal light sculptures and a whimsical 24-foot tall tree. With this year’s exhibit doubling in size, the crowd did too. Thousands attended the event at Latham Plaza and Sea Walk Pavilion area in Jacksonville Beach. The evening’s entertainment provided by Beaches Residents Actively Supporting the Symphony (BRASS) and local choirs reined in the holiday with cheer. Brushed Bold: A Painting and Photography Exhibit Unveiled at Annual Tacos for TaTa’s

  Jacksonville, Fla. (October 15, 2014) — Brushed Bold: A Painting and Photography Exhibit showed breast cancer Survivors in a unique way at Tacos for TaTa’s held on Monday, October 6, 2014.  For the third year TacoLu and lululemon athletica co-sponsored the fundraiser to benefit 26.2 with DONNA and The Donna Foundation. The sold out event showcased 14 amazing Survivors whose breasts were painted with a design of their choosing to represent their feelings about survival, hope, faith, and inspiration.  All Survivors remain anonymous. Stephen And The SEE Gull Book Signing Event a Success
